My wife and I live in San Francisco and have stayed in many Small Luxury Hotels and The Leading Hotels of the World throughout Europe and North America. The property and service at Meadowood were equally amazing and second to none. Meadowood is beautifully tucked away in St. Helena and makes for a perfect local luxury getaway. Our room was very spacious with a private patio to enjoy the sun and the views. We had originally planned to stay for 2 nights and extended our visit for another...we just didn't want to leave :) Having been gone for only 3 days, we have come back relaxed as though we had been on vacation for a week. This Napa Valley jewel is part of the Relais & Chateaux collection and I would highly recommend it. June 3, 2007 This is a great place
for a couple to get away from it all. Great location in getting to other
parts of Napa and many wineries, and not overly pretentious. You'll need
to make your own entertainment, but if you want solitude and isolation,
this is the place for you. We stayed in February, when it was very quiet.
The staff treated us like royalty. Extremely helpful in booking
reservations for dinners or suggesting wineries. The fireplace in the room
was fantastic, the bathroom was one we'd love to take home with us! Our
only problems were with the Wifi and the lack of cellular coverage without
walking up the hillside. Since we worked partially during this visit it
was inconvenient but we managed. The staff worked hard to resolve our
problems. The food on site was fabulous and the afternoon wine tasting in
front of huge fireplace was spectacular. This was my first experience at Meadowood, and it was
quite nice. The property is huge, and lovely, with acres of trees and the
golf course. It seems to extend over a mile or so, and a golf cart takes
you to your individual cottage in the woods. |
